I just bought a place and want to step up to HD programming. I wan't a plasma for wall hanging and was leaning towards the PHILIPS 42PF9630A. I have read some soild reviews about this particular set and it fits well with my budget of about $2000. Does OT like this Plasma or would you guys recommend something else for the money?

I enjoy my Philips HD Plasma...

My co-workers were trying to convince me to get a Panasonic that was around $400 more at my price... but looking at them on display... I couldn't convince myself to do it.

Go to a local retailer, and look at them. Your OWN eyes don't lie. ;)

If you look at Philips vs any other plasma side by side with your OWN eyes you will see that the Philips look purple compared to any television. They are flat out horrible. Get what you want, but look at the philips in a store and you'll see what I mean. You don't have to get Panasonic, but at least look at other brands.

What else would you recommend in the 42" Plasma category for around $2000?
