    :dunno:

i am looking at this as a possible purchase.

I have heard to amazing things about its performance under extreme stress and reliability.

the question is: Is it worth shelling out the dough.

If not, what are comparable alternatives? IBGlock

I absolutely love my buddies. He has the tacticool version (5inch barrel I believe)
    Love the sites and accuracy.
Feels better in my hand then a comparable Glock too.

My friend has one. 4 inch .45ACP.

And like 81911 said, it feels better in my hands than any Glock ever has. The sights are great and it reflects in the accuracy.

It gets my vote. I'm thinking about picking one up too. Not too expensive.

I don't care for the XD. Higher bore axis than glock, poor extractor design.

Get a damn glock. That what all the cool kids run.

i just bought the xd 45 compact with 4" barrel 2 weeks ago off gun broker for $520 after FFL and Shipping

    I was looking at the S&W M&P 45, glock 21, and glock 21sf.

I hate the glock 21's. The 21 is huge and the 21sf feels still unnatural. the S&W didn't do anything for me.

The XD 45 has a wonderful feel in your hand. I love the compact to carry, and the extended mag makes it a full size grip. The accuracy isn't amazing, but it's probably my shitty shooting. This is my first .45, and going from 9mm to this is crazy. I'm all over the fucking place with it.

I had a .40XD as my first gun. I loved it. I had over 5K rounds down the tube and not single problem. I did sell it and got a Glock 26, though. I couldnt find a holster that I liked and I had some problems CCW it.

It's a trade off if you are going to compare it to the glock. Glock has a better finish on it but and some think the XD has a cleaner break on the trigger.

I thought the factory sights on the XD were fucking terrible. Those were the first things to go on mine. The finish on my XD got all jacked up after a real long range session. Also taking the XD completely apart (not a field strip) was a pain in the ass for me.

After all is said, I prefer the Glock over the XD. I find it is simple, no thrills, and will go BANG every time you squeeze the trigger.

i like the profile of the kahr, hate the triggers.

I pretty much only shoot glocks now. If I could not shoot a glock I would shoot a CZ

i'm mainly interested in a reliable gun for CC, which model CZ would be good for CC.

i'm looking more for a Sub Compact or a Compact weapon that can be concealed easily and something I would also enjoy shooting at the range

I've put a couple thousand rounds through my bro's XD9. I think it's a pretty nice gun, he hasn't had any issues in almost 5k rounds. I prefer my M&P 9, though....it fits my hand better.

That's precisely why I got a Keltec p11 instead of continuing to carry XD. I thought about Glock 26, but I kept asking myself "Just how much of an improvement can it be they are about the same size". I know that Glock is lighter though.

Shot a XD9 and Glock 17 at the range. Didn't care for the Glock grip, the XD was real nice.

I own 2 XD's and 4 Glocks. I've shot all of them in IPSC or IDPA comps. They're good guns, I don't think either is suporior to the other. I see Glocks choke just as much as XD's, from guys that shoot the shit out of them. I can show you plenty of footage of them choking. Then again, most any gun that you shoot often enough in a dynamic atmosphere will and have choked. Learn how it chokes, learn how to fix it, learn to tailor your gun so it chokes less, and learn to shoot.

They're like secksin a fat chick, don't feel good, not too proud of them, but gets the job done. lol

anyone have any preference for rounds in this type of pistol, or similar?

45 seems popular, but isnt it a big round to be luggin about? Any differences in choking between models (round sizes)?

I got an 4" XD .45 a while back. Liked the Glock 21 as far as shooting, but the grip was just too damn big for me. XD grip just fit me better. Think that's the biggest overall complaint on the Glock 21. Only issue I ever had with the XD was a bad round of ammo- WWB no less. BOOM BOOM BOOM *pop*. Luckily the round made it out of the barrel, but failed to eject. Still extracted though. *shrug*
