    What am I doing wrong?

    ok, basically I have an html file that has a button on it, i press the button it shoudl execute this perl and read in a dtaa file and output a calendar. So what are some easy things to check?

    help me :hs:

    Uhm, could be a number of things. Are you executing shell command cal properly and trying to output it intro HTML? Is your perl script executable? Are you sure you have the correct mod perl modules installed for whatever you're attempting to do? Did you check your logs to see what the problem was and attempt to fix it?

    A number of things, and the question was a bit vague.

    ok, heres the .pl

    Basically, I convereted the .pl file to unix and the cal1.txtx to unix and uploaded the .pl into the cgi-bin and the .txt is in the html directory. The calendar.html is a form that has a button that calls the cal1.pl. Does this sound like I have this laid out correctly?

    Make your perl script executable.

    chmod +x cal1.pl

    I set all the permissions to 777 just to try to eliminate that. I am not sure whats happening, arrggggg!

    Is /usr/bin/perl the correct path? I've seen it in /usr/local/bin before.

    Do other perl cgi scripts work?

    yes, the usr/bin/perl is good

    use strict and warnings and see if you get revealing errors

    FYI the Date::Manip module was not on the server :ugh:
