    I dont really do perl but i want to know what exactly this code does.. can anyone 'decrypt' it line by line for me

    Code:
    #!usr/bin/perl

    for($x=0;$x<=1000;$x++){print "Content-Type: text/html\n\n";

    my $url = " http://www.whatever.com";

    use LWP::UserAgent;
    use HTTP::Request::Common qw(GET POST);

    my $agent = LWP::UserAgent->new;
    my $req = GET $url, Referer => "( http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=this+should+work&btnG=Google+Search&meta=)";

    print $agent->request($req)->as_string;}

    Does it just hammer the webpage from the same ip address 1001 times? What's the point of that google referer line?

    It prints 'Content-Type: text/html' and hits a web page 1000 times, with the referrer set as a google search.

    They're making it look like the traffic comes from a google search.

    The last line actually prints the source code of the page it hits.

    Guys will use stuff like this to boost their own webstats for different reasons.
