Are the Performance Teknique ICBM - 769 speakers worth a damn? Somebody is telling me they paid $120 for a set of the 6X9 speakers, yet im finding them for as cheap as $29 online.

Has anyone even heard of them?

In my opinion, any company that uses Max Power as a selling point is not something I would buy. YMMV.

The fact that they are rated for 700 watts should also raise a red flag :o

I've never heard them personally but they have all the familiar symptoms of crappy speakers.

nothing on their website is listed in RMS power, so how are you supposed to know what amp to put on them? What a lame company, I bet all their stuff sounds like crap.

I hear that 6X9's in general suck, but it looks like I'm going to go with some Infinity Kappa's (693.5)

oversized Ceramic Metal Matrix Diaphragm woofer with foamed rubber surround (Plus One woofer is 30% larger than standard 6"x9" cones)
    1" C.M.M.D. dome tweeter
    1-1/8" metallic planar EMIT supertweeter
    frequency response 35-22,000 Hz
recommended power range 2-110 watts RMS
    peak power handling 330 watts
    sensitivity 90 dB
    top-mount depth 3-3/16"

    Any objections?

I wouldn't say that 6x9's suck (as far a coauxials go), I just don't see the need for having speakers in the rear. A good set of front speakers and a powerful amp (I say at least 100Wx2) is all you need.

I like having rear fill in my car, it just doesn't sound the same without it.
