On the bottom of the gold damper housing on my coilover, you'll see a cap. Inside that housing rests a Koni 8611 damper. When that cap is tightened, the damper presses against the top of the housing and it stays still. For whatever fucking reason, the damper is loose, despite tightening the piss out of that cap. Since it's loose, sometimes it makes noises and squeaks and whatnot... and with the wheel in the air I can pull on it at 12 and 6 o'clock and it'll move like if the wheel bearing is bad. So today I pull the damper housing off of the car in hopes that I can loosen the cap, reapply some Loctite, and go after it again... well, the tool supplied with the coilovers that's for that little cap broke, because it was too tight. I'm glad I have a spare car.
