On the bottom of the gold damper housing on my coilover, you'll see a cap. Inside that housing rests a Koni 8611 damper. When that cap is tightened, the damper presses against the top of the housing and it stays still. For whatever fucking reason, the damper is loose, despite tightening the piss out of that cap.

Since it's loose, sometimes it makes noises and squeaks and whatnot... and with the wheel in the air I can pull on it at 12 and 6 o'clock and it'll move like if the wheel bearing is bad.

So today I pull the damper housing off of the car in hopes that I can loosen the cap, reapply some Loctite, and go after it again... well, the tool supplied with the coilovers that's for that little cap broke, because it was too tight.

    I'm glad I have a spare car.

I paid too much for this suspension to be having to deal with all this bullshit.

    Holy crap that sucks.

And here I was thinking my rear anti-sway bar issue (well, moreso a concern) was a problem :o

OEM shit breaks too, and try finding a set of OEM adjustable coilovers.

The best performance item you can have for any motorsport is a tow rig and a trailer.

Should have gotten the parts yourself, then taken it somewhere if you're too much of a pussy/have no where to do it :o

Fortunately this is mostly an annoyance... given the design of this coilover it takes more time to pull the wheel off the car than it takes to get the damper housing off of the car.

This corner has been problematic since I got the suspension installed. I think I'm just going to pull the fucking thing out and send it back to the manufacturer and let them look at it.

Minus well send them all back to be rebuilt if they were used when you got them :o

    Or not :mamoru:

Do you have an adjustable anti-sway bar in the rear, and if so does the angle of the links concern you?
