I've been running into this alot lately since people at work have been finding out i've been lifting and are trying to have something to talk about. They're telling me how ripped and pumped they are now that they're 'back on it.'

Then when I ask them what their routine looks like they tell me they work out at home. They do 500 pushups / night and some curls.

I'm pretty new to this still, and I know some of yalls methods would make me go :eek3:, but do they seriously not realize that its not something you approach with minimal effort?

Yes. Happens to me all the time at work. I told one person and the whole fucking office started bullshitting with me about lifting. Fuckers always ask my arm routine.... douchebags.

i think the first month was the hardest, getting into the routine and making it a habit. now that ive been doing it, it's much easier to stick with.

    :werd: first month is hard

but after 2.5 yrs going consistantly and I have to admit I burned out. Got bronchitis 3 months ago and i've been going to the gym sporatically since i was so exhausted for so long.

    I'm hoping F&N can inspire me :x:

I had bronchitis too and slacked off. Out of shape people around me and their lack of dedication helped get me back in there quick.

I'm trying to vary my workouts to get back into it. For example, I live by the beach, so the past couple days i've been going for a bike ride for a couple hours on the beach then working out, it does wonders for my spirits and motivation. Also, i've been trying out the gym by my work couple weeks back, change of scenery/people help.

You tell people you go to the gym and they expect your biceps to double in size every week. Especially girls.

    ppl are dumb

when i was really skinny, they were like why bother, u'll never be big

when i was semi in shape, they'd say you aren't ripped like the models are, useless

when i got close to in shape, you're too big

    :ugh: i workout for myself

that pic of PT (didn't know it was him until now) also inspired me a lot in the beginning that it was possible to get away from the disease of skinniness

In high school a kid asked the lifting coach what the football team does for bi's, he said they squat.
