What did/do you do for them?
i'm gonna guess calve raises (standing/sitting)
I walked around for several years weighing 280lbs or more
this is the trick
i was fat for the first 18 years of my life
seriously, muscles are muscles. No secret between calves, bi's, chest etc.
Lots of good food.
Lots of good exercises.
Lots of good rest.
Lots of time.
Calf raises, lunges, etc.
+1 for genetics. My brother has crazy fucking calfs and all he does is smoke dope and sit on a couch.
i dont have big calves, but 15-20 rep range with a ~1 second pause on the bottom and top of the rep seems to work well for me. i also do them on the leg press machine without shoes.
I heard someone spouting off that the secret to getting progess on the calves, is to calf raise at least 2x your own bodyweight,which kinda makes sense.
That's what I'm asking. I do calf raises but I want others. And I don't think lunges are good for building calves.
disagree, all of the brolies at my gym with the largest calves work them every other day
Whatever you do, you need to do at least 2x your bodyweight because the calf muscles work your bodyweight each time you take a step
played hockey. thats one body part on me that I think always looks good no matter how long i take off from the gym
and i think i have untreated restless leg syndrome... im always shaking my feet.
i think walking on the treadmill at the highest incline possible is great. they're a muscle that seems to respond very well to higher reps
Rest meaning recovery time.
If you can work em everyday, by all means do it.
There is no secret to this shit. Calfs are like any other muscle.
As far as specific exercises. I find if I do seated calf raises and place my hands on my calfs I can feel the motions that will target them the best. Then do slight ranges within those motions for a good pump then span the entire range for a few reps.
Alternatively you can sit in the leg press machine with some plates and again place your hands on your calfs feeling the motions. Concentrate the muscle when they peak and dont forget to extend the full range.
My calves are by no means large, but, I do get a good separation on them when cut.
Using your toes on the stair master is good.
Ive also noticed if you have a recyprical machine that extends the depth of the range that the greater the range the harder it is on the calves. If you have one that does it, give it a try.

Same here, but I was 350 lbs before losing 100+ Now I do 4x10 on the calf raise machine with six plates on there. I measured the machine and calculated the force necessary for equilibrium... 675
