I'm just wondering how they're holding up...lemme know.
wtf is black friday?
the day after thanksgiving...best buy and wal-mart and circut city all had deals on laptops, and i was just wondering how they are doing now...they seemed cheap.
who cares? that is what warranty is for dumbass.
Damn, WTF is your problem Cyber? He asked a legit question and you jump all over him for it? Maybe he was going to buy one even though the sales long been over and just wants to know how they hold up?
mine is working great... I even bought the extra warranty because it coves the battery
Didn't buy a laptop but I bought a 46" DLP HDTV on Black Friday and so far it's done a great job.
who cares. a laptop is a laptop. just cause it's bought on a certain day doesn't make it that less quality.
stupid question = stupid answer.
i think i hear a dingo eating your baby
Well, yes and no. I could be wrong, but I have a very strong feeling most sales on Black Friday aren't on the absolute best stuff. I don't know the particular laptop he's referring to, but it's likely a shitty laptop at a stupidly low price to get people in the store. Being that it's a shitty laptop, I think it's a rather good reason to ask how well the laptops are holding up. You often get what you pay for... but every once in a while, you're can be surprised..
HP, Dell, eMachine, ASUS... all made in Asia... All are below the 5% failure rate. For electronics, cheap != low quality. Cheap == old && outdated || undercut namebrand.
If black friday is anything like Boxing Day here, it's the old models being sold at or near cost to make room for the new models.
There was a Panasonic 42" Plasma going for under cost at Futureshop. Does that make it shitty? No. It was a 2005 model and they had a fuckload of them to get rid of.
So im gonna go and say, yeah you're wrong.
I'm starting to fill JollyOger's shoes nicely
You're a fucking humbug.
I wondered if those $200 notebooks (wtf is a laptop? Is this 1987?) would last, too.
I was referring to "shitty" as low-end crap that can barely support running the OS, let alone other programs. Such as last years old Celeron with a 128mb of ram trying to run WinXP.. yeah, it'll work, but it's most likely a shitty computer.
meh, who care, laptop/notebook/desktop replacment.
I still have a p1-133 that runs with 32mb of ram and 1.2gb hdd. it's somewhere in my storage. it still has dos 6.22 and WFW 3.11.
oh the memories
sorry cyber, i didn't realize that it was such a sensitive subject.
i remember people complaining about the overheating issues. the actual cpu used for the walmart notebook wasn't meant for notebook computers or something. people said to stay away from them... these people being forum users on a black friday website though.
