if ou surround criminals with well to do people, they will reform. If you surround criminals with criminals, that is called a gang.

don't forget folks, Staff Sergeant in the AF is E-5, so don't go thinking he's shit hot either. Don't get me wrong E-5 in 4 is still good. Staff Sergeant in the USMC is E-6.

And criminals can reform, as long as you're not some kind of child molestor/rapist/murderer of course... It all depends on your crimes.

No way! I was under the impression you couldn't join the military with a Felony conviction.

The other day someone turned one of them in from planning to rape someone elses wife.. since he admited to it and he said he was 'joking' he was handed over to the shirts, slap on the hand and that was it. He got away with it, what's next?

exact wording "when are we going to rape (name)?" Also like to say that her husband had just left for korea for a year.

They might not let them in.. but they keep them... The worst part is how people who have done far less have been punished this guy watches me jump with the kiddos on the trampoline and is a total chauvinistic pig. He even busted in to MY house and demanded that I give him somehting to drink. I do not know him nor am I friends with his wife.. It's a good thing my husband was there HE told the guy to say please and thanks for the soda and told him to leave.

Recruits that need special waivers to enlist only have a .7% higher court martial record than the "ideal" recruit, but earn more medals for valor and reenlist at a higher percentage.

Ya I was like wow thinking he was in the USMC, but i made E5 in like 19 months. E6 in 4 would have been impressive.

Do they really hand out rank like that? E-1 through E-4 are all time grades in the air force. No testing. Once you hit E-4 and are trying to get to E-5 then you will test on the SKT (about your AFSC) and the PFG (Air Force knowledge). If you do well enough and get enough points then you will receive a line number for staff. Then it will be another two years before you are eligible to test for E-6 (tech sgt.)

E5 in 19 months is impossible in the AF.

E1-E3 are just waiting your time.. 9 months from E1 to E2, 9 months from E2 to E3. E4 requires a test and it's 6 months after E3. My job has a 99.8% advancement from E3 to E4. E4 to E5 is 12 months.. that is a 48% advancement rate for my job. You can get lucky with the "windows" though in test taking. Since obviously people join at all periods throughout the year & our tests are only given in march & september, you can actually take the tests a couple months before your time. You can also get screwed over.

I came in as E2.. fell just at end of the window for an earlier test so just got lucky.

. I could have gotten E5 11 months sooner but I didn't get E4 Below the Zone and hence didn't test for E5 a year early. I was still promoted well before my "ideal" peers. :wavey:

Nothing about the degree, either? :dunno:

With the way the OS rate has been in the last couple of years (since its formation in '03) its every crazier in the Coast Guard. I made E-6 in 6 years, and this other girl in our shop made E-6 in 3 years (first tour).

Pretty sure she ended up going officer, but with the EP's she always got, could of taken the E6 test at 3 years in.

If I was staying in I would of gotten an EP last eval cycle and would be taking the E6 exam this september at 4 years in.
