I agree. No fucking around this time.

Why? He lost a close decision. Would you rather see Maynard get a title shot?

For once, I agree with you.

Me and my buddy were just talking about this and he got all pissy saying BJ should have to work his way back up... For what though? To add another L to a fighter or 2's record before he gets the belt back?

Fuck that, KO or submission before the 3nd round is over.

You answered your own question. Maynard paid his dues and has earned a shot at the title. BJ just lost to Edgar, why does he deserve a rematch immediately afterwards?

So what? Maynard just BARELY beat Nate Diaz in a half-assed performance.

BJ has completely wrecked everyone at 155 he has ever faced as a champion and lost an extremely close decision.

Meh. I understand the reasoning behind giving such a dominate champ an immediate rematch - but there are other fights I'd have liked to see. Specifically KenFlo or Maynard. Not too interested in this fight.

BJ Penn at 150% will not be able to beat Frankie.

    Frankie is BJ's kryptonite.

He's faster, a better more accurate striker, solid foot work, and a world class wrestler.

    Frankie = Mini GSP

So, wait, BJ loses his belt and its BS that he gets a rematch...Shogun loses to Machida for the title, and gets a rematch immediately? How does that work?
He went on a 5-1 run at 155, lost a close call, that = rematch
Do you ever get bored? Doesnt trolling get jsut a little old?

Bullshit, only deserved rematch for belt this year is Shogun. Penn didn't prove shit in that fight. He should have to fight for the interim at the least.

I wasn't happy about Shogun getting an immediate rematch either, just like I wasn't happy that Lesnar got a title shot after going 1-1 in the UFC

Maynard has gone on a 7-0 run at 155, wins close or dominant victories (including one over the new champ), that = title shot

2 fight win streak and hasnt beaten anyone close to being ranked. and he deserves a title shot?

Maynard is getting poo-dicked. but thats what he gets for ducking Penn.
