MMA Pedialyte or Gatorade

    Some people praise Pedialyte over Gatorade, frankly I know its the same shit.

    What do you guys think? Am I possibly missing something that one has that the other doesn't?

    gatorade has carbs
    pedialyte doesn't

    hangover - pedialyte
    workout recovery/post workout drink - gatorade + protein

    i prefer vitamin water over gatorade. Gatorade gives me this bloated feeling.

    both. smart water for immediate rehydration. it has no salt but plenty of electrolytes. gatorade (little salt) 30 mins after. pedialyte or salt water 30 mins after that. then drink whatever you want, including plain water.

    Supposedly for treatment of diarrhea the water from boiled rice is best. That's what WHO (world health organization) actually recommends as treatment, it works better than Pedialyte and is cheaper. The worst thing you can drink is Apple Juice, since it has a shit ton of glucose and will pull water from the GI tract. Gatorade isn't a good replacement for the water loss from diarrhea. It's formulate for the loss of water through sweat; while, Pedialyte is formulate for the loss in diarrhea.

    some types of sugar are good post workout, something like maltodextrine or waxy maize preferably.
