I was pretty bad before with TONS of fast food, no veggies, no exercise. The typical skinny 22yr old with boobs and a belly.

In the past 7 weeks I have cut all that nonsense, eating better, working out maybe 2x a week.

Already noticing reduction in man boobs and love handles, minimal increase in biceps, triceps, back etc.

Now, I am looking to eat a lot, work out a lot, and swim a lot, but maintain healthy heart. Goal is to look better, live longer, and be stronger for work.

Question: Should I be eating stuff like peanut butter? It seems worse than fast food based on the label. I eat mostly chicken and veggies now.

Pic from 5 minutes ago: Please be nice :noes:

it's mostly unsaturated fats, which is great for you.

You need fats in your diet, so go ahead and eat it in moderation. You'll notice it's a favorite among F&N members

don't eat jiffy. Go to trader joes or whole foods and buy all natural PB. Look for one with like 5 ingredients or so.

    indeed.

i dont know if you get "President's Choice" brands where you are, but they make a deadly natural PB that's called "Just Peanuts"

    it's exactly that.

With the exception of Trans Fats and Saturated Fats, most other fats are actually good for you in moderation and a requirement for your body to operate normally.

If you want more info go wikipedia it or if you want a decent read on how to eat healthy/get a better body go buy "The Abs Diet". It's written by one of the editors at Mens Health Magazine. It'll teach you about... a lot of shit. Go get it if you care.

Anyway, moderation for peanut butter/other nuts would be about 1tbsp/1oz twice a day. I usually eat a Tbsp of Smuckers All Natural Chunky with my mid morning shake and 1oz of Back To Nature Tuscan Herb Roast nuts with my pre-bed time Caesin shake (or vice versa).

Another thing to look for is the less ingredients the better. Smuckers All Natural = Dry Roasted Peanuts, Salt. Tastes outstanding too...

definitely check out the trader joes one like suggested above. its dirt cheap ($1.79 here for 28 tbsp). the only ingredient is "dry roasted peanuts".

natty pb ftw. I found a local brand that has the ingredients: peanuts.

then below, it says "allergens: may contain peanuts" :hsugh:

    Hello there

Hey buddy, looks good. Welcome to working out and welcome to the beginning of the new you. When I first started, I took a look at these threads here, they really helped me out:

    http://forums.offtopic.com/showthread.php?t=937642
    http://forums.offtopic.com/showthread.php?t=2920566
    http://forums.offtopic.com/showthread.php?t=3194630

Also, I did some other research:
    http://lmgtfy.com/?q=How+to+eat+better
    http://lmgtfy.com/?q=Good+workout+routines
    http://lmgtfy.com/?q=Good+workout+music
    http://lmgtfy.com/?q=how+important+is+sleep+when+working+out
    http://lmgtfy.com/?q=how+important+is+proper+form+when+working+out

Youtube videos to help you out:

You can watch that, after that, in the right hand side, there are many other videos showing you what proper form looks like when you lift. Crappy form = crappy results.

All this being said, you may want to start a log. It will help you organize your workouts, organize your nutrition, and also as a way to see how far you've come. It's also a great place to set goals. I hope you have a fun trip on your way to brollyhood.
