im sure your city or a nearby city does something like this.

over 100 police cars made it to this parade.

it would have been nice if some tanks were to have rolled on in and paraded.

I think it would be nice to be one of the Marines marching in the street. Do you know if you have to do anything special to be able to march or just volunteer?

That would be quite an honor. You have first hand experience, how do you get to do things like that?

Also, is it possible for a reservist to do that or must you be active?

i am in the army's honor guard. we are all active duty 11Bs (infantrymen). you are either picked to be in this unit or have to volunteer and be reccomended by multiple people to get in. its pretty hard to get in. here are the requirements.

note that we (army honor guard) are the only honor guard that are all infantry and are the only ones that do infantry training, becuase we also are the quick reaction force for the d.c. area

Did you have to do anything when the White House and Capitol Building had the scare a couple weeks back with the airplane and whatnot?

no, my company was not the IRC company that week, i was out in the boneyard doing funerals when that happened, and my unit did not mobolize for that due to the fact it was a small threat and was under control by other units. i was on the quick reaction force that was on standby for the inauguration and state of the union speechs earlier this year. we were locked and loaded standing by blackhawks and humvees ready to go in and if anythign happened
