i'm sick of using adobe acrobat...it takes a ridiculous amount of time to open and i often have quite a few pdf documents that i need to view for school...this is of course on my PC

when i'm on my laptop (powerbook) pdf documents open instantly inside of preview...is there anything like that on PC?

so basically...are there any fast-opening pdf viewers for the PC?

You know, you could just open it once everytime you log in.

i might just need to upgrade...i have just been dreading it for so long because i have the *registered* version of acrobat 5...but lately its been hanging after it loads everything and freezes up for a good 15-20 seconds

i'll try to just download the newest version (i know at least 6.0 is out) and see how that goes...

but i still would like to see something like apple preview on PC

i would uninstall 5 and reinstall. if you think 5 is slow, wait until you see 6

are u using the reader or the full blown acrobat?? because you might want to try just the reader and see if that helps...

    Speed up Acrobat 6:

Find the plug_ins folder and rename it plug_ins_disabled
Create a new folder named plug_ins
    Copy the following files from "plug_ins_disabled" to "plug_ins": EWH32.api, printme.api, and search.api

    That didn't work so well.

Launched fast, but then it screams because a bunch of plug-ins are missing.

Works without any problems on my copy of Acrobat 6 Pro (not Reader).
