  1. ok so another one of my endless threads about coming out....

so im on a date with this guy right (first one actually) and we are getting along great... we go to catch a movie. we kiss a few times during the movie no biggie. as we leave we r holding hands.. no biggie... but than as soon as we r around large amounts of ppl, he seems to not want to be so touchy feely... now im not saying we should be all over each other in public, but have any of experienced this?? as a closet case myself i can understand his feelings.....

    im not in the closet

    most people know

if they ask I tell them

but i dont generally kiss or hold my bf's hand around large amounts of people

first and foremost I wouldnt do it with a girl either

but secondly I do want to keep my safety in mind

I dont know how some people will react and I dont feel like getting in a fight on date night

that being said were two guys going to see dreamgirls lol shouldnt be too hard...

  3. lol @ dreamgirls.
but i see what you mean, and i would never be crazy with pda or anything. i would hold a girls hand at least in public though.. its really the safety thing... its kind of shitty thats all..

some people might be entirely comfortable with pda's in broad public.

i can see that it may come off as that they are ashamed but you should respect someone's comfort level.

Not a big fan of PDA for anyone but hand-holding isn't a biggie. I think it is the comfort level of the parties involved. Heck, my brother won't even give his hubby a goodbye kiss if I am visiting (which makes me kind of sad...)

  8. i just hate how society is so oppressive to people.. its crap, i just want to be me... i feel like that is asking too much
i dont want to have to be scard b/c i freaking held someones hand that i care about.

Shawn and I hold hands all the time... we never get touchy-feely on the street (because I wouldn't want to see anyone do that). Occassionally, we'll give each other a peck on the cheek or something... or when in line, he might lean his head on my shoulder... but that's about it.

I'm not big on pda. I enjoy holding hands when we go for a walk though.

  10. anybody ever give you crap over that?

only once on the train in boston, a guy called us faggots... whereupon I snuggled up closer to my man and stared down the guy who made the slur.

As expected, he didn't have the balls to do anything about it.

But, most times, we get positive feedback. Like, one time this lady stopped us and said "It's so nice seeing you walking down the street holding hands. We need more people doing that so that people get used to it!" or people pass us and smile at us (positive reinforcement).

So, we've experienced far more positive feedback than negative.

I'm not really a big fan of pda, regardless. I mean there is an acceptance line, and I don't like when that's crossed...holding hands and the occasional peck is fine, but kissing and further should be done in private. This goes for straight or gay couples. IMO.

You in school? If so, what school do you go to? I graduated from Smithson Valley in 2006, which is why I'm curious...

  13. oh wow! i graduated from judson in 06. crazy. you used to live in San Antonio than i take it?

  14. hmm ill have to start smiling more at couples i see, i know that would make me feel a lot better.

I don't make out with my girlfriend in public, but I'm definitely not shy about holding hands, hugs, pecks, etc.

holding hands and stuff is ok with me... i wouldn't be comfortable making out or anything. like others have said, just a simple peck.

would be same with a girl too

Yeah! So as it turns out...I moved back to Boston because I was miserable in Florida...plus there was something about that girl I mentioned in a previous thread. We've been together for 3 months now and it's the best experience...feels so right. She's amazing. I'm so happy!

haha yeah I used to live off Redland road (sorta near 1604 and 281) but then I moved out to Bulverde. I knew a few people that went to Judson, though.
