What the fuck are they called now? :sad2: I'm looking for some reviews on the net.

I don't want a damn smartphone, but I need something smaller than my ultra compact laptop. I'd looooove to not run something Linux/Java based.

    Any advice?

Not just that, but at least with Sprint, there is an extra monthly service charge to use the blackberry.

PDAs are those big ones that HP makes, you see like Salesmen walking around with them making orders and such. pocket PCs or Smartphones are what cellphone carriers have

I don't use enterprise. I use imap4... Thats why I think my experience is better... i don't rely on a BES server.

zomg you have to pay to enjoy more features/benefits, unpossible!

Dude it's like everything else. And I'll pay a couple bucks more for a better quality product.

My 8130 thru Sprint is excellent. And the Sprint network is awsome for voice/data.

So you know shit about PDA's. Blackberry's are so limited. You can get a windows mobile smartphone and sync with an exchange server. Ok, so what if you dont have an exchange server? You can get free push email from http://mail2web.com/

All blackberry had for it was push email service. Now, windows mobile phones blow blackberry's away. You can basically do whatever you want on a WM pda. I flash custom roms on my Sprint Mogul, aka Titan or PPC-6800, all the time. Any program you need, you can install it. Can't say the same for a blackberry. So a blackberry is :greddy:IMO

    www.ppcgeeks.com
A site where you can see how customizable ppc's are.

    http://www.xda-developers.com/
This is a great site. Lot's of programmers write numerous programs that enhance the user experience with a WM PPC.

Just to give an example with my particular phone. If I want, i can flash a rom to my phone that will enable GPS. Most phones have a GPS chip in it to use for the emergency 911 tracking; this particular rom allows us to use it the phone for navigation. I have tried that rom using Tomtom for navigation and it works great. Just a small example of how WM PPC's blow blackberry's away.

I've had several WM pdas. They're all absolute crap. WM is the biggest POS ever.

WM 6.1 is better, and phones have more ram these days. Ram was the killer.

meh, before I got my blackberry I messed around with the Touch, Mogul, and Q. I actually liked the Q except for the shitastic WM.

    Fuck WM.

And I'm usually a MS supporter.

You were probably on the shitty stock roms. The last rom release for the mogul is actually stable though. But new roms with wm 6.1 are better.

yes they were stock. The hacked roms increase speed a little bit and can fix some of the reliability issues... but you're still stuck with the shitty WM interface. I hate how windows mobile does shit.

I also hate using a "stylus". I like the trackball on the BB.

And really, any product where you have to use after market software just to make it not suck still sucks.

To each his own. I guess You're an iphone lover. Iphone is a great product for most ppl. For me, no at all. I like the customization that windows allows me. However, I know that most ppl just want to use their phone right out of the box.

actually, it is the jailbreak that really makes the iPhone shine. if you don't jailbreak it, it is actually a fairly mediocre phone with a slick interface.
