    I'd honestly buy a PDA phone then, T Mobile MDA/Cingular 8125/Sprint PPC6700/Verizon vx6700.

There are some new phones coming out from HTC too pretty soon that will be worth waiting for.

Cingluar and T-Mobile have HP PDA Phones. They also have Blackberry and Treos.

fuck, for $500 just buy a laptop!

PDAs are WORTHLESS for multimedia/web. And storing patient information on a PDA isn't smart, and back when I tried storing contacts on a PDA it's worthless! Takes forever to enter the data, and you need to be careful because she has to answer to HIPAA guidelines so no normal address book will meet their requirements.

If your friend wants something to store records on AND be able to use the web, take a look at the Fujitsu P1500. It's the size of a large paperback book, it weighs two pounds, it runs a hell of a lot faster than a PDA, and even though Jolly will piss on the brand name, there's no other machine that can match its size and functionality.

Unfortunately, it costs about two grand. But based on my experience with it, it's worth the money to have such a convenient little computer. The thing even fits in a purse, if you're willing to toss out the old junk hiding at the bottom of your bag. (keep the jokes to yourself, I know this because it's my mother's computer.)

    For phones get the 6700.

For just PDA's look at the Dell Axim X50v or X51v.
