All the Ft Hood OT'ers are permanently stationed in Iraq, please leave a message and they will return your call as soon as the Islamic radicals play nice.

Since your single I recommend finding a place in the surrounding areas (Harker Heights or Copperas Cove) vs living in Killeen.

Friends who have been stationed at Ft Hood (I've only visited) agree with the above statement.

1st Cav is my gaining unit. Due back in December and I've got a feeling they'll be here for 6-8 months before heading right back out again.

What's the drive like from Austin to Hood??

austin is a little over an hour away
4id is going over soon, 1st cav will be back shortly thereafter; they should be back for a year before deploying again

LT's are getting deployed one month after they get to your unit, and it's not just one LT here or there, in my class of 46 I can think of 11 LT's who are going to deploy 30 days after graduation. You will soon find out that no matter what your branch is, your OBC won't teach you a 1/4 of what you need to know.
