I have a Phillips HTS3151D in my dorm room. Right now I have it connected to my PC through the regular audio speaker jack with one of those RCA to 3.5 connectors.

The problem with this is that I only get Stereo and the system is 5.1 .

I'm using the on board sound of my BioStar TF560 A2+ motherboard (RealTek ALC888 sound ). I'd really love to get the 5.1 working because I'll be using my PC as my TV in my dorm.

    Any suggestions?

that receiver is not capable of receiving a 5.1 source other than it's built-in player.
