    A co-worker asked my to look at her daughters computer and see whats wrong with it, when I try to start it up I get a power on password input.
    She says thats the way it was when they got the computer.
    I tried using a windows boot disk, didnt work
    Tried all stuff for the password i.e. ser. num., hi, none basic stuff like that, nothig. it wont even show what i'm typing, it just lets me know when its worng, and after 3 trys it freezes.

    any suggestions?

    Power on password...wtf? Is this a bios password? So if it's always been like that don't they have the password?

    Anyway if it's a bios password there's a few things you can try to bypass it

    • Using a manufacturers backdoor password to access the BIOS
    • Use password cracking software
    • Reset the CMOS using the jumpers or solder beads.
    • Removing the CMOS battery for at least 10 minutes
    • Overloading the keyboard buffer
    • Using a professional service
