Title says it all, running vista and i can't get 1 minute into any online video without my computer completely freezing. Don't know if it's vista or firefox or both, but i'm not sure why its even happening.

Is it only videos? do you play games? can you monitor your CPU temperature? Check your voltages?

If its actually freezing (no mouse input, image frozen on screen) it's likely a hardware problem.

Typically what I would do if my PC was freezing was to first make sure the CPU is running in a good temperature range, then check to make sure all voltages are in spec, then run memtest to make sure a stick of memory didn't go bad, then try reseating hardware components.

Freezing occurs when instructions in the CPU cache to be executed become corrupt and it usually ends up hitting an invalid instruction trap and/or branching to a bad location, which then results in hitting an invalid instruction trap. This is most often caused by bad power supply, overheating processor, or corrupt ram feeding the CPU bad instructions.

Well at least I got important information out of you that you didn't think to include in your original description of the problem.

If its a laptop all you can do is check the temperature, then send it in for warranty repair hopefully.

i guess i should mention that its only online videos like youtube, hulu, and veoh that crash the computer. Any videos i have or download run just fine and i can play all videogames perfectly
