    Current:

    Case: antec super lanboy
Mobo: msi socket 754 (forget model)
    CPU: A64 2800+
    Ram: 2x1gig cheapy geil pc3200
    Video: 6800GT + zalman cooler
    PSU: Antec 380w silent (pre-sata)
CPU cooler: shitty ass gigabyte one :ugh:

    Want:

Video: 7800GT (which one is the hotness?)
CPU: A64 939 (which one is the best bang for buck)
Mobo: SLI (even though I'm not getting a second card now)
PSU: I guess i need to upgrade this as well.

The plan is to build the new one, and sell off all my old shit, hopefully making the net cost only a couple hundred bucks.

Socket 939 3000+ is the best bang for the buck right now, and if you get fast RAM, they are supposed to overclock pretty well.

That's the processor you want. If you can't afford it, just step down slightly.

Video: Best bang for buck, 7800gt is the way to go.
CPU: Probably a Venice 3200+ or 3500+ core. You might want to pick up a ThermalRight XP-90c and a decent 92mm fan for cooling.
Mobo: Asus A8N deluxe or DFI ultra SLI board (I keep forgetting the name)
PSU: Antec True430 should hold you over pretty well.

It's only a little slower than the 7800gtx which is faster than 6800gt's in SLI and might even be faster than 6800u's in SLI.

If you're not into gaming, go with the 6800GT, it'll be fine. You could actually go with the 6600gt for less.

Newegg had a sale. Most places have dropped the prices of the single core (which is all I need :squint: ) since the x2's starting popping up.
