holy shit, these deliver a massive protein punch from the peanut butter.

1 serving (2 tbsp) of PB is 8g of protein

I use about 2 servings per sandwich and eat 2 sandwiches, which is a total of 32g of protein. I need at least 2 glasses of milk to finish it off too which is another 16g of protein. Each slice of bread is 3g of protein so that's another 12g.

    16g + 12g + 32g = 60g of protein. :eek3:

They are very quick to make and good for a snack. The only downer is the sugar in the jelly, which is about 20g per sandwich. I wonder if there any "lite" alternatives.

You could just take a protein shake, but this gives you carbs + fills you up.

Some of my best gains during my big bulk up (25 lbs) came from peanut butter sandwiches.

Man, I've been starving for the past hour or so thinking we had no food, but then you reminded me that I bought about 15 jars of peanut butter a week or so ago. Thank you, sir. :wavey:

All bread does. :wavey: Most bagels have 10-15 grams of protein by default.

Yeah, but figure that a slice of bread ~60 cals and a bagel is ~300..so 5x that.

protein from animal products is far superior

you might get 60g of protein from your pb+j and milk, but the only protein that matters is the casein from the milk

Milk simultaneously enhances the value of the protein in the peanut butter sandwich. That is, peanuts are low in some of the essential amino acids muscles need for growth and repair. The amino acids in milk (as well as those in the sandwich bread) nicely complement the limiting amino acids in peanuts.
