Can anyone tell me what the payouts are like for the smaller shows?

HDNet Fights, Elite XC, IFL, etc

They all pay about 14x more than the UFC. UFC sucks when it comes to paying their fighters what they deserve

the sucky thing though is that UFC has been able to make it seem like they are the standard for MMA in the U.S. (really annoying when i try to exlpain MMA to people and they automatically say, "oh like UFC? you're a UFC fighter?" fucking morans)

True "small" shows like GC and KOTC start as low as 100/100 for first time fighters. On most of those cards, there are maybe 3 or 4 dudes that will leave with more than $1000.

I'm trying to figure out if that's good or bad for a few minutes of work. I guess I'd take it :o

It is a lot more than a few minutes worth of work. Think of the hours of training you put in for that one fight.

You have to start somewhere though. Do it because you love it, not for the money.

Well I know, but I meant the payout just for the fight isn't bad either way.

It would beat working 8-5 like I do :hs:

I could see myself training because I love it and actually fighting for the money, but that's just me :o:o:o

True. But if you're fighting for money then training is part of the job.

I wish it wasn't so expensive. Severn's gym is like $60/month. I'm sure most places are expensive, but this is for like only 2 nights a week too.

DO laying the smackdown on >DRIVEN<.

I understand what you're saying though. And I do have to go back on the 2 nights a week thing, I think he also had 2 morning classes sometime during the week but I was focusing on the classes that I would be able to attend.

I do get what you're saying. $60 seems a bit high to me, but then again his classes are usually full so it must work for him.

It was only because I was on his son's baseball team when I was like 10 and was a pitcher. He came to our games wearing a fanny-pack, Hulk Hogan style :bowdown:

And he has a hot daughter :naughty:

Her damn b/f hasn't been on MySpace in a couple of weeks and hasn't approved my friend request, so I only have her small user pic, which doesn't do any good really :o

My first fight I got paid $100. I spent like $105 a week before on a mouthguard, plus training expenses, etc etc etc.

Its terrible money if you're trying to make a living at it, but its just a hobby for me. I'd have fought for free. Its just that there are really no amateur shows around here.

I got a custom one from my dentist. Much smaller, easier to breath through.

I bought 2 pairs of the XO shorts with the built in cup holder based on recommendation form people here. And it was terrible and caused me to endure some major ball trauma.

Now i sport them under my Shock Doc Jock and they are an awesome team, keep my legs warm and my sack protected.

I tried the more expensive shock doctor mouth guard, but it never set correctly when i molded it and it just didnt ever fit right. I liked how solid it was, but the cheaper one does the job for me.

I found an old 99-00 Sioux roster online, but your name wasn't listed, so I took a guess... :big grin:

I was shocked at how little information I could find. Dig around online enough and you can find the bio of every member of the 1958 LSU Football National Championship Team, but almost nothing about a recent hockey championship team.
