Need to pass protect a hard drive to keep family and friends from accessing certain files. Machine is XP. I know you can limit it to a read only, but I need to limit it to....it's not there period!

    Thanks

if your drive is formatted NTFS and not FAT, and you have different users for you and the rest of your family, then you could just not give them read access to that HD. Wanna share that porn collection? ;) :big grin:

Somehow that doesn't really answer the question. ;)

I don't really know if anything, but I'm sure there is something out there.

actually this does answer the question. I have access to a partition set up with no permissions for any user other than myself, and when someone else is logged in, they don't even see that sneaky little D: drive.
