Shooting portion was this morning and I only have the written exam left for tonight. Decent shooting I suppose 242/250. I was really expecting practice but we had none but I suppose as long as you pass it doesn't really matter. Wish me luck on tonights written test and the wait for the license :wiggle:

I dont get it... While a perfect score would have been nice if 90% of my shots hit center mass, I'm sure the guy will be hurting.

if CHL = concealed handgun license, there is no shooting test in my state. $100 application fee and a small fingerprint fee

no it was 50 shots using the standard test grading system, 5,4,3,0 from 3 different distances. Guess TX actually wants to know you wont shoot the little ol lady behind the bad guy.

I went down to the local court where I had my case and paid $5 for a printout by mail of the info on it. How long ago was it.

I passed the written test with a 98% btw :hs:

They aren't supposed to tell you your shooting score in Texas. And it certainly isn't recorded anywhere. It's only logged as pass/no pass.

The reasoning is that if a CHL holder was to accidentally shoot a bystander, they could somehow use the test score against them ... "You shot perfectly during the test, why did you shoot the old lady across the street?". We all know it's a bullshit comparison, but a lawyer would eat that shit up.

At my CCW class we shot at each other. Whoever was the last one standing got the license. Yours truly is posting this amongst you today. I wonder who passed.

I would be pretty obvious as to your score even if they tried to keep it from you. Not hard to count how many were out of the ring. I even took mine home for good measure :mamoru:

Good job. I'm still amazed that Washington is so lax compared to Texas, when you'd think it would be the other way around. :eek5:

Here it's $60 (no tests/class) and if you take out the federal holiday and weekend days, it only took 7 days for them to turn mine around (about 12 days total).

pretty much, though you have to keep in mind that in terms of square mileage, way more of washington state is conservative and gun friendly than not. It's just the loud seattle-metro area that likes to be defenseless victims.
