Took these last night at a party at my fraternity house. I was somewhat drunk so they aren't the best. My first time using an external flash (SB-800). Pics were taken with a D50.

I like. Any more pics? These are some of my favorite kinds of shots. Not staged, but showing everyone in a natural form for the most part.

They seem a tad bit overexposed in some of the shots... I noticed you were using an sb800 maybe you were just a bit too close to the subjects. Im no pro just look a bit too bright in the faces on some of the pics. Also some of the pics cut off arms and etc. small detail but makes a pretty big difference to me anyways :dunno:

    just my .02cents

^ yeah theres a good chance the flash was too much, like I said it was my first time using it (borrowed it from my dad for a few weeks) and I haven't messed with it much.

as far as cutting off arms and legs that was more my cropping, I guess I don't feel like everyones full body always needs to be in every picture, I like trying to get some different shots sometimes.

I think party pics are best when it's just "random" and spontaneous -- sorta like wedding pictures. Those are parties after all.

Posed like this, they look very snap-shottish. It just looks like a technically good picture from an expensive DSLR. But it doesn't do justice to what a DSLR is capable of.
