Is it a good idea to buy spare parts for your car before you actually need them? I see various parts for sale here and there for really ridiculously low prices. Some day I might need those parts and I figure how much money I will have saved. Conversely though I fear if I buy the part I might not ever need it and it will be a huge waste of time, money and storag space.

That's a good question. Let's try and answer it.

if you think you can sell the part for close to what you paid for it, in case u never use it, then yeah i'd buy em

if the parts are going to lose value while u have them tucked away, i wouldnt

you always lose value on any aftermarket part.

if u buy the parts used, u can re-sell them for the same price as long as the demand is still there

depends on waht the parts are, and for what car. A used stock T25 turbo for my eclipse was worth about $100-150 3 years ago, and it is still worth about the same on the used market today. but buying new parts, yeah theres no point
