What's the plug do? Let you hide stuff in there?

keeps lint and shit outta there, and supposedly helps with mag changes. i just bought one to try it out (5 bucks) i kinda like how it "finishes" off the magwell.

the backstrap on polymer guns is also to help absorb recoil. Gives a bit of flex to the palm.

hadn't heard that one, but i've read that it is made to make it easier to remove a stuck mag

I call bullshit on this :o

the only way this would be true if the hand holding it was nearly the same strength/hardness as the gun itself. As it is, the hand is the only thing that is going to deform in the absorption of recoil.

Actually, under super slow mo video you can see a lot of frame flex.

flex, yes, but probably not what he was talking about. I know that shit moves around, but the only way for what was described to happen AFAIK is in the situation I described.

I'd be interested in that video. If i had to guess, it was vised up and shot. not held in a hand and shot. Although, an AK slops around a lot when shot in slow mo. Please post video of this if you have a chance.

I have a plug and it is not a waste of money. I like mine. It helps guide the mag into the well in stressed situations. It also keeps lint/dirt out. I have also had zero problems removing a mag -- even when force is required.

call it what you want. but if you think it's too strong to flex, take a Glock, pull the mag and squeeze the grip from the sides. Polymer is flexible and it does help a bit with recoil. It's not going to prevent the gun from working if you remove it or fill it, but that's one of the reasons it's there.

    1) why the hell would I be using the gun without a mag?
    2) the recoil doesn't come from the sides

wow, you missed the point entirely, squeezing from the sides is just the easiest way to demonstrate it is flexible

yes, I did miss the point. Maybe if the recoil was coming in from the sides of the grip, I could see how he made a valid point, but it doesn't, it goes front to back. What he was saying was that the area BEHIND the magazine flexes. And I'm calling bullshit.

idk what everyone's arguing about, but nice purchase for sure. If i had a glock i'd have a plug and mag extension for sure
