So this probably wont be the easiest thing, but I know its possible. I want to paint my exhuast tips, so im sure it has to be high heat paint. What would you guys do for the prep work?

I really don't want to pay to have them powdercoat it. Thanks!!

powder coat will be your best option, really. otherwise, scuff, scuff, and use a self-etching primer.

I have a co-worker that manufactures SS exhausts for Kawasaki bikes. He takes them to a local place that can do HPC coatings. I've seen the finished product and it freaking rocks!

check 'em out. Prices aren't really too bad IMO.

If you are set on doing something yourself, I'd suggest roughing everything up with at least 120 grit paint at a minimum prior to paint. That way it will give you a good base to grip to. As for paint recommendations, I'll leave that to someone else.

hpc coatings are great in reducing radiant heat- good for exhaust manifolds to lower engine bay temps

I've seen the same exhausts. They do kick some serious ass.
