I just had my car painted and I'd like to get some type of paint protection film. Is it safe to put these films on freshly painted cars? If so, how long should I wait before getting the film applied?

I'm considering 3M or X-Pel. Is one better than the other?
Which one should I get and why? Thanx!

You need to wait until the paint is fully cured. Your best bet would be to find out from the paint shop how long you should wait.

I've heard good things about the 3M clear bras, never heard of the X-Pel.

Llumar makes a high quality one too, but I'd go with 3M personally.

My shop told me to be safe i should wait atleast 6-12 weeks before I get it applied. Thanx for the help. Oh, and right now I'm leaning more towards 3m.

I've heard and seen X-Pel. Good stuff.

    Also, look into Armor Glove.

I have 3m and love it. I had the dealer install it when I bought the car, best decision ever.
