just regular bicep dumbell curls. no extreme weight...my usual amount, but I kept feeling a sharp pain in the middle of my arm bone (the ulna http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Illu_upper_extremity.jpg) on the outside edge sorta. so i stopped the exercise. this was yesterday

now today my arms are so fucking sore right there. almost anything i do really makes them hurt. so wtf?

i wasn't lifting weird or too heavy or different. did i strain something? what's the deal?

It's very common. Sometimes I jack mine up and I have to take it easy on arm workouts for a week. Mine hurt the most at the top of the rep when the pressure of the weight is pushing down. Not much you can do other than wrist curls and other forearm exercises.

so....forearm splints? can it be avoided by doing more forearm strengthening?

    you need to RICE it.

you are most likely getting that pain because your forearm muscles are growing really fast and choking the nerve(s) in your forearm. this is what my sports medicine doctor diagnosed me with 8 months ago. he prescribed me celebrex. now, the pain is all gone.

Perhaps you have weak forearms, I had that issue when I first started working out. Felt as though my arms were gonna snap.

    Yes, forearms splints.

And like I said in the other thread...less curls, more weighed chin-ups.
