    I am trying to set up jdom to work with my project, but couldn't get it to compile. My directory structure looks like this:

    /u6/jsding/cs446/project/org/jdom.jar
    /u6/jsding/cs446/project/phoneinterface/PhoneInterface.java

    PhoneInterface.java is part of package phoneinterface and imports org.jdom.*, but when executing:

    javac phoneinterface/PhoneInterface.java

    ...it doesn't compile, saying that "package org.jdom does not exist".

    Anyone know what's going on? Thanks!

    CLASSPATH=/u6/jsding/cs446/project/

    It's looking for the jar file for the jdom stuff that your code uses, but it's not on the classpath. add "/u6/jsding/cs446/project/org/jdom.jar" to your classpath and try again.
