I went to shoot Pacific Division who just got signed to Universal but they are part of a bigger whole/quasi 'rap collective' called The Wall. So it turned out there were 10 or so different guys coming on and off stage. I wasn't really prepared for that so I shot through my 4 gig card one song into Pacific Division. I had to do the 'delete something and shoot' dance for the rest of their set which wasn't optimal.

First concert on my new 40D which I am loving. How do you guys quickly switch your autofocus points? It's sort of cumbersome for me and I left it center focus for pretty much the entire show so some faces are a little soft...

i find that focus & recompose works in a pinch. changing focus points takes a bit of time however if I need to focus near the edge of the frame i'll change the focus point.

    a) aim focus point, half squeeze, recompose, finish squeezing
    b) hit the c.fn to map focus to a button, use that then recompose and shoot.

not worried about possible card/data corruption?

i hear it's safer to go with multiple 2/4 gig cards instead of the larger cards ... just in case. :x::dunno:
