It has been a month now since I got my PA done. For the most part its healed good I think. Except for the damn crusties. And that’s what hurts the most. How long should I expect to have these still? :wtc: Sex is still an almost no-go. The condom being as tight as they are pulls and what not on the piercing, which isn’t to good of a feeling. :hs:

And it’s recommended to not have sex without a condom for the first 6 months right? And no oral for 3 months?

One more thing, how long should I wait until I take this to a 10g? Should I stick with a CBR? Thought about doing a Curved BB (the banana style ones) Internal threads of course. Good idea? Where is a good place to get Jewelry online at?

Oh and will a Taper be needed for the move to a 10g?

You can always try a curved BB. If the condoms are bothering it with a ring then switching to a curved barbell for that may make it a bit easier for you I would imagine, with less movement than a CBR.

I would use a taper or tapered jewelry when moving up a gauge, regardless of whether it's a small jump or not; just to be safe. I would imagine it would be more uncomfortable trying to push a larger gauge through without a taper (unless the hole has naturally stretched).

Another reason I wanted to move to a CBB.

Where would I get a taper for a PA at?

Looked at toungestud.com and they only have some 3" straight ones. Do they make curved tapers? Not sure I want to stick a 3" rod in my hole again. The damn rod the piercer put in before piercing it was bad enough :noes:

Whenever you're looking for a curved taper you'll want to search for "talon" or "claw"; that's typically what they're called on a lot of sites & will net you the best results.

:ugh: Based upon this I'm guessing that you got pierced with a 14g am I right? If so go ahead and bitch slap your piercer then go somewhere else to have it changed over to a 10g

Do a search on BME for "cheese cutter" and you'll understand why the PA is just not meant to be done with anything <10g Upsizing will help but so will leaving it heal. You'll know when it's right so until then don't go stressing the piercing by trying on condoms.

I'm going to guess "cheese cutter" is bad? :noes:

still trying to find a pic. What would the "cheese cutter" effect look like? :hs:

edit... just saw a pic of it on a ear lobe. Will my PA get like that?

The piercer offered to have it done with a 10g or a 12g. Not sure why I went with a 12g but he didnt seem to concerned about it. :hsd:

Take it out and have it re-done? Or wait a bit and move it up to a 10g?

Sounds like you heal a little slower...'Satanic Goatslayer' has the best advice. Keep up with your sea salt soaks and use antibacterial soap in the shower if you can.

I've had mine a little over 3 months, recently stretched to an 8g CBB (pierced with a 10g CBR)
Stupidly I had sex within about 4 days and it did hurt...had oral sex within about a week but did sea salt soaks immediately afterwards, lol. Don't do this...I don't recommend it.
All in all though we were having normal sex within a month without any issues.

I went with 316L or 316LVM steel for my CBB. Not sure which one. Both are considered 'surgical steel'.

I also had a tongue ring that was titanium and had -0- problems. I think it's more up to choice and/or price.

Internally threaded is better from what I had read doing research...but it is a little more expensive.

    **EDIT**
    Got this from another forum...
The main difference between the two is in the manufacturing process. 316L is a stock item and may need to be machined to size, where as 316LVM is liquefied and set to the appropriate size. This eliminates microscopic scratches resulting in a finer finish with less surface imperfections.
