I'm thinking about picking up this workout plan, has anyone ever tried it? heard of it? I'm just looking for some advice

for those of you who havnt heard about it, its a set of workout videos that come from beachbody.com

and i took this from their site

Whether you want to get lean, bulk up, or just plain get ripped, there's an endless variety of ways to mix and match the routines to keep you motivated the full 90 days and beyond!

I don't know, I've been doing the same plan for like 8 months and I might do something like this while I cut just to keep me occupied.

Some young guys at my gym were doing it and they looked kinda jacked but I hate talking to people at the gym so I didn't say anything to them.

From what I saw... it was nothing more than a decently well put together program for a mainstream audience. I haven't done much research, but I did watch their infomercial for an embarrassingly long time. My initial reaction was that it looked fairly solid, but essentially you're just paying a bunch of money for someone to apply common sense progression to vanilla workout regimes.

lol. I found this recently on the net but my body is in no condition to do these exercises :wtc:

It sounds like a complete plan but you gotta be in shape. I'm sure alot of hype is coming from people that did lose weight, but never had a plan totally laid out for them before. I've seen better results with internet trainers in that time period though. (swolecat, etc)

well i did forget to mention I would just be borrowing it from a friend and if I liked it I would just ask him to burn me copies so I wouldnt be paying anything.

but I was just wondering if the workout was any good before I wasted time.

If it's free i'd give it a go just to switch things up. Probably really not better than any standard program but sometimes following a program you aren't used to that changes all the time can be fun. You don't dread the same workout. :o

Some people need structure and a preset plan to follow. If that is you, it can't hurt. But with a little time and effort you could find as many varied routines that are proven and solid for free posted here and other mediums.

i tried it before, its hard and really long. personally i would much rather lift, but i have no doubt that it would be a good cardio workout. there is only so mych you can do with bodyweight exercises (unless your a gymnast)

I just did the chest/shoulders workout yesterday, and it was pretty good, although it didn't have anything to do with a benchpress, and thats my favorite exercise. but all in all its long (about an hour each workout) but its very fast paced, and pretty gimmicky (they ask you to drink and eat their products.....ya right) but its fun and I can defiantly could see how these guys get results in 90 days

Yeah, can someone let us know what equipment we need to complete the course?

Looks like bands and a pullup bar are needed.

Does it look like we can fit weights in anyway. Maybe after an 8 hour rest.

what you need is a pull up bar, dumbbells/bands, chair, and push-up bars

thats basically it, you use the dumbbells for most of the exercises

So they have you constantly change your workouts around to keep the muscle "confused?" That would probably result in more DOMS than a usual workout plan, but I'm not sure how effective it would be in building muscle. It would be counterproductive if your goal was building strength through neurological adaptation, but seeing as how the website is called "beachbody.com," I would guess they're focused more on BBing.

I think the point of the confusion is just to help you not plateau in your workout. but ya man I defiantly get where you coming from

I don't think the focus is on building muscle. At least i never had that impression.
