When it comes to programming, CAD, and engineering, which one does it best?
    P4 @ high clock speeds w/ HT
or an athlon chip (64 or non64) [non64FX]

If you have the time to check http://www.tomshardware.com they have compared P4s and Athalons/A64s numerous times. Sorry if I cant give you an exact answer but I'm about to fall asleep :squint:

When it comes to stuff like that i prefer a Sun, HP, etc... with some their brand of Unix on it.

Unless you're talking like AutoCAD or something, when I think CAD I think UG, Catia, etc..
