First off I'm a newb and dont know too much about guns yet. I recently got a glock 19 and got a box of "Federal 115 gr +P+ Hi-Shok JHP". Anyway I was told not too shoot them in my glock. Anyone care to explain why? Also, I have a friend with a taurus PT 111 and was wondering if he would be able to shoot them?

Awesome. Don't shoot it through that beautiful gun. Unsupported chambers are a bad idea for high velocities.

Its fine to use it sparingly in an XD, don't know about glock and its shitty chamber design

I'm not one to believe that every glock is a bomb waiting for a finger to pull its trigger (although I'm more than happy to tease the Glockheads with it) but I would be reluctant to use +P+ ammo in one because of its chamber design unless the manual or Glock themselves said it was OK.

The manual should say for certain if +P and +P+ ammo can be used or not. I would follow the manual on this one personally.

+P+ rounds have much higher pressures than normal rounds, and a Glock isn't strong enough to handle that pressure.

    Fucking shoot it.

I put Corbon through mine and it's rated at 1350fps even though the Corbon box says it's only +p

I've never seen a box of 9mm in the store that actually says +p+

:eyeroll: Ignore the instructions not to shoot it. I carry ranger SXT +p+ loads in my 19 and my 26.

Corbon doesn't use +P+ label even though their stuff is in that range. I use DPX in all my pistols now.

Oh, they now have 7.62x39 in their Hunter line for you SKS/AK users :naughty:

It's fine to use in Glock all the time, but only sparingly in the XD.
