It's possible, but the normal person is rarely in danger of it.

Basically if you are working out large muscle groups in mass volume every day and your diet and rest are 100% on par, and you are noticing a decrease in strength and constant soreness (acutal pain, not a nice burn), you could be overtraining.

A lot of people are too quick to cry "OVERTRAINING!!" when the weak link is actually in their diet or sleeping habits.

Ive been working out 6 days a week for over 6 months...my muscles would burn after workouts, but for the past couple months, after my workouts I do not develope any true type of burn, I feel fine. Only maybe specific areas, or doing an excercise Im not used to...My weight has not made a gradual increase too much for a while either...do you have any idea why that may be?...could it be my diet?

Look at Noquarters routine in the stickies. What on earth kind of routine are you doing 6 days a week?

My routine is 6 days a week. I think that unless you do benchpress and squats every day or if your diet is out of order you are very unlikely to overtrain.
