Did 135x16 today on overhead sqauts at the gym. On the 13th rep my right arm went completely numb and after grinding out 3 more reps I said fuck it and racked it. My whole body was completely exasted after this, and it goes to show how overhead squats are truely a full body excersise. Due to the shitty camera angle and my dark shorts it looks like I'm not going deep enough, but I assure you guys that I was going parallel, if not even lower (you can even see my heels lift off the ground on some reps). Next time I try something like this I'll make sure to have it filmed from the side or something.

Oh and yes I know my calvs are fucking tiny. :o I'm 6' and around 190lb in the vid.

Btw, those are rubber plates, the blues are 35lb and the black ones are 10lb.

might i suggest that you take your grip a little wider and aim for more depth. A shoe with a heel would help as well.

The weight was not on my toes on the all the reps, and I am new to this excersise. Ive honestly done overhead squat maybe 8 times in my life. Its still difficult to do these properly for me and I was fighting the weight the entire time, trying to stay upright. I know you're supposed to place weight on the heels, which is something I definately do on all other squat movements.

I rarely do them because my current gals are asthetics, not olympic lifting. It was more of a fuck around set if anything. :o

I'm having wrist problems right now and that would hurt a lot...

But yeah, I really am going deeper than it looks. Its hard to judge accurately because of the angle.

what do you mean full position? All the way down? I just started doing these and I find I am not flexible enough to go down all the way. I really like this exercise I feel like it hits my core alot as i try to balance.
