I am planning on OC'ing my amd 2600+ barton. My case has 3 fans then the hsf. Am i going to need more cooling and if so any recommendations (Socket A)? The comp isn't running yet im just waiting for the 120 GB seagate i ordered yesterday then it will be good to go.

BTW just usning the one that came with the CPU for now.

For OC'ing you'll probably want more than just a retail HSF. There are a lot of good options out there for Socket A - I myself have a Volcano 12 - very loud at full speed but it keeps the CPU cool. It cost me around $26 - Arctic Silver Compound for another ~$8 as well.

I can be as cool as 40c at full load although I'm not overclocked.

I'm not much of an AMD guy, but I run my Pentium 4 2.0GHz at 2.5GHz no problem. Though Intel chips are usually better at keeping themselves cool.

Does your motherboard have a built in CPU speed throttle in case it starts overheating?

you should pick up an SP-97 and a panaflow 92mm fan from www.svc.com

the heatsink might be a little expensive, but it is great, especially if you want to keep your computer cool, and quiet at the same time.
