I've read everything i could find in google...no joy.

I'm using exchange and itunes is telling me "File access is denied. You do not have the permission required to access the file C:\Documents and...<path>\outlook.ost"

I can navigate to the file, I can see it, right-click and check permissions and my name is there with rights to the file.........everything I've seen online was back for v7 of itunes. I'm running v9.1.0.79 with office/outlook 2007.

Help? It worked up until about a week ago and I can't remember having done anything that would have made it change.

    174mb

I turned off caching, changed the extension from .OST to something else, and restarted outlook and and let it build a new .OST.

Same error..."file access is denied". Is there a problem with a 174mb OST?

    fixed.

it had to do with itunes triggering my anti-virus, which locked down access to the file.

Oh, that's nice. iTunes was pissing off your antivirus? Sounds like your computer has developed an auto-immune disorder.

    hahaha

Yeah, but it's good for buying singles, now that they can all be converted to mp3 format.

There are various open source replacements if you just want to download stuff to your ipod/iphone. I hate itunes and refuse to install it on my computer

I hate itunes, too, but it's already integrated with how I use my iphone so it's too late for me.

IT'S NOT TOO LATE FOR YOU THOUGH!! SAVE YOURSELF WHILE YOU CAN!!! VIVA LA RESISTANCE!!!
