hey there, about to pick up my Rebel XT w/EFS IS 17-85 lens in a couple days

i am just wondering what else i should pick up while i am at the store..

all i can come up with is a bag, i already have a 1gb ultra II on its way.
and i have some lcd screen protectors from before.

    stuff like filters,lens hoods,etc.

If you plan on doing long exposures, get a remote shutter release (I like cabled better). Also, a microfiber cleaning cloth is a bonus. Lastly, if you want to do bright outdoor shots, you will need a polarizing filter and/or some ND filters.

hmmm...perhaps cheaper stuff like hoods, cleaning kits etc..
no need for extra lenses and flashs for now

btw..what the hell is a hood used for anyways?
just outdoor shots to reduce glare?

no need for the battery grip i think..i have no problem with the xt's overall size

Vertical shutter release is so nice though. Once you feel the 250D with grip you will never want to go back.

    edit: oops, I ment 350D :o
