Wifey and I are having our full wedding reception in June of this year (Saturday, June 7th). We are still without a photographer, because the person we were planning on going with ended up not being able to do it.

Any of you OTAP crew do weddings? Do you work in the Baltimore area? Our wedding is going to be about 15 minutes north of Baltimore City, in Baltimore County. We're looking to hire someone, just checking to see if anyone on here has done weddings before and works in the area. Let me know :bigthumb:

I'd love to see some sample pics you've taken too, even if you aren't in the area!

LOL, our budget isn't huge for the photographer, so I doubt that would fly.

I mean, if the samples provided were good enough, we'd probably let a student do it.

I make a decent 2nd photographer but I'm no pro, so I prefer not to be the primary photographer

if you want, I can pass along the details to a board of mostly wed photogs, just give me the date, budget and location.

anyone thats interested would then contact you (or you contact them when I pass along the info).

I would be interested in that, actually. Trustworthy people?

I would probably only give the nod to someone w/ decent credentials (a decent website or collection of sample photos).

The date is 6/7/08, location is in Hunt Valley, Maryland (it's about 15 miles north of Baltimore City). Budget? Not sure of that yet, probably on the lower side of things though compared to some of these fuckers I see charging like $3000 for the night

Only 2. 1 if you don't count my sister's :) I was part of the ceremony so I didn't get those shots.

That's why I'd prefer being the 2nd photographer since I'm no pro.

$3000 is almost the norm these days :hs: You can probably get a package for around $2000 but I didnt see many lower than that when we were looking around

$3k always seems to include tons of album/random extras that we don't need.

If someone shoots a couple hundred shots, edits the good ones, and just sends me the rest, I think we could probably handle all of the printing/album making, etc.

I mean if you figure that the photog will only be there for around 5 hours, I don't see why it should be $3k if I don't need them to spend 11ty billion hours creating albums and editing photos. I don't know though, our budget is still up in the air.

trust me, you'll never do it. Everyone says that, and I see it all the time. Hell in 2+ years all we have from our own wedding is a half designed album.

Most of them want you to buy the prints off them I'm sure they make a huge markup on that. Mojito is right though we did what you want to do and still havent printed out any wedding pics for ourselves and we got the pics back a few months ago :o

A friend of mine made a really great wedding album right off Snapfish. However, she just finished it and she got married 3 years ago....

Feel free to quote all those images once more. I don't think the others saw them.
