They seem to be pretty affordable for what they are. Anyone here have one/shot with one/no anything about them other than the fact they are nikon mount and render better fleshtones?

Hadn't really payed much attention to them, and had seen a few for sale lately. I think I'm gonna pick up a used 5dI when the mkII comes out.

The only thing I really have is my 30d and the 24-70 f/2.8 L, so it could be pretty easy if I wanted to. I'm just keeping a DSLR for portrait/sports/client work, and am gonna buy a G10 for landscape/personal use.

i don't know about that. i'm pretty sure the whole point of the camera is to use fuji's 12MP sensor.

    negative ghostrider.

s5 pro is the d200 with the fuji supersensor.

Thing has CRAZY dynamic range, and flawless fleshtones.

By crazy, I mean like this:

never had any experience with the s5, but i almost got a s3 for my first dslr. a family friend had 2 of them and she was upgrading to d2x's. she only went to the d2x's because the s3's were really slow, and she's since moved on to d3's. one of the best photos taken of my daughter was taken by her with the s3. :o the s3's at the time were amazing for portrait work, which is what her business is primarily.

yeah but everything else sucks. noise at higher iso, ergonomics (never liked the Nikon bodies), focus speed and accuracy is that of the d200 (meh).

The S5pro has been revered for its ability in the studio, due to its broader dynamic range. if thats what you want to do, id be all for it, since you would never really need any of the grips i mentioned above.

and oh yeah i hear that Lightroom and PS cant get teh detail out of the RAWs like the OEM software, so you would have to use OE software in your workflow.... LAME!

:werd: I'd never buy it, but I wish other camera would steal it's dynamic range...

I'd really only use it for studio-type work. Portraits (location), automotive stuff, etc, with some landscape stuff mixed in. I don't much carry around a camera unless I'm on a shoot anymore. :o
