Don't really have a use for these 2 computers, but just set em up for the hell of it. The Gateway you see has Linux (SuSe 9 Pro) on it, and the other one has XP Pro on it. I really don't need a file server, or web server.... Any ideas?

I was maybe thinking of making one a firewall, thoughts please.

Depending on their specs, you could set them up on [email protected] Or perhaps a Counter Strike or similar game server?

Or you could do like I did and just give them to younger siblings in your family for MSN/internet/porn. :p

And of course, you could always donate them to charity! (Yeah right)

It's a program that uses whatever power of your CPU that you arent using to perform calcualtions and stuff that helps in cancer research. It sits in your system tray and does this. It downloads the data it needs calculated, called work units. Then it calculates it and when its finally done, it sends the results to the server.

You can even make a team and fold together to compete against other teams and raise your rank. I'm sure if Offtopic.com had an official folding team you guys would be hugely successful, what with all your members and everything.

Consider putting an ad in the paper for them, make a few extra bucks?

If you're talking about [email protected], none. It's only voluntary.

If you're talking about selling them in the paper, it depends on their specs.

Nah, it's just a project run by a university. I dont think they have the budjet to pay the thousands or even millions of people who participate. :p
