I'd like to get my body more defined before I go on vacation this summer, I have about 3-4 weeks... what should I do? Evidently I have a family membership at a gym, I will check that out tomorrow so I should have access to weights soon. I would like to improve my shoulder + back muscles and chest/abs ones too.

    Running? Situps? Pushups?

    :uh:

I know I won't get ripped in that amount of time

I drink 8+ glasses of water a day, no junk food, no soda, lots of protien (tuna, chicken, steak) and a lots of fruits/vegtables. Been doing this for a year very strictly. I also used to take muay thai kickboxing last year for about 6 months and got my endurance up a lot, but never really built any muscle.

you need to eat a lot more of what you're already eating and start lifting weights.

dude. Muay Thai rules. I used to train with Jeff Ford (multiple world heavyweight champ)

if you wanna get defined, eat more than you are right now (i'd say at least 3-4k cals per day). go to bodybuilding.com and look up exercises there. pushups are a waste of time.

if you want muscle mass (which everyone here is gonna suggest), eat even more than i suggest before (at LEAST 5-6k cals per day). go to bodybuilding.com and look up exercises there.

specific exercises i would personally recommend:
    squats, bench, deadlift

learn how to do those movements with both the barbell and dumbells. do whatever you are comfortable with right now. some people learn those movements their first time, some it takes years to learn perfectly. don't focus on the weight you are doing as you are new to all of this. focus on form. research the exercises. do them at the gym. look in the mirror. go home and see what you did wrong. fix it next time you lift.

you can make some noticable gains in the beginning even before hypertrophy occurs due to neuro-motor learning, so i would not consider those weeks completely wasted. though you are already thin, you are not cut. try a cutting routine, eating healthy. and consider taking a creatine supplement to help with some water retention for a fake size increase. also shave, and get tan. a tan will do wonders for the appearance of tone.

check the stickies for novice workout plans.

i notice people advising you to bulk. i would not start a bulking diet directly before your summer vacation, as this will have the opposite effect of what you are trying to accomplish for that time period. however, this is excellent advice for afterwards in your preparation for the next summer.

heres what i usually end up eating

    Breakfast: usually my biggest meal
3 eggs, some times home made hash browns, fruit, tea or coffee

    Lunch:
    tuna, fruit, leftover bbq, water

    Dinner:
BBQ (steak, chicken, pork), rice, sauteed vegtables

I usually eat untill I am full then drink water untill I am annoyed by having to pee too often, should I start stuffing my face and lifting? How about running is that any good

I will start some deadlifting, squats and bench tomorrow at the gym. What would you recommend for deadlifting? Back when I was doing muay thai I got up to 45's on the bench, and normally did 35s if that gives any idea of my range.

the most effective thing you could do in 3-4 weeks to improve your definition is to get a tan

look up correct form and go with what feels good. its hard for us to tell you what weight you should be lifting. lift heavy but don't hurt yourself. or shit your pants. (always a danger)

i would recommend starting with the bar to work on your form. honestly, if you want to break out of the mold that every teenager/younger adult sets and get results that MATTER (esp. in the long run), do what i am telling you to do instead of trying to be "toned" for next month.

I figure shitting my pants would be a nice way to introduce myself to the gym...

I'll do what I can and post some results (or lack there of) in 3 weeks :bigthumb:
