I've been working a lot and haven't been able to keep up on new music.

My favorite bands right now in order are

    1. The Shins
    2. Band of Horses
    3. Death Cab for Cutie

I also dig some of the electronic stuff like Bloc Party, MGMT, and Does It Offend You, Yeah?

    thanksssss

    bloc party is electronic? lol

so you're looking for some new sounds, eh?

I assume you have already listened to Kings of Leon (your playlist seems to fit right in with these guys). I also assume you have listened to Spoon, especially their album "Kill the Moonlight". You might also like Thom Yorke (from Radiohead), and his album 'The Eraser'.

It's hard to give you new ideas when I have no idea what all you have listened to. I am tempted to make a list of 50 essential albums, but maybe you've heard of most of them? I'm mainly into the electronic genre though.

yea I've heard all those. I'm kind of looking for new stuff, bands that haven't made it commercial yet. I've heard pretty much everything that has been played on a radio etc.

Actually, I just re-read that you wanted new stuff that hasn't blown up yet. This is one of the biggest local bands in Portland that has a chance to blow:
