OT, I am on a very strict diet and in the last 8 months, i went from 165lbs to 125lbs.. however, i don't feel like i look like it.

I went from having a beer belly, to this is me, last week.

    My 5 day routine is:

    Monday - Chest
    Tuesday - Back
    Wed. - legs
    Thursday - Arms
    Friday - shoulders
    Sat & Sun - Off / Rest

At the end of every workout, i usually do pushups / plank and leg / knee rises to help my core but nothing much after that.

I was told that crunches won't help me much, is this true? What can i do to reduce the fat around my lower belly / spare tire. Anything i can do for abs?

Sounds like you didn't cut properly, what was your diet like? You must have lost a lot of muscle during the process.

my diet is mostly high-protein, low carb diet.

I try to eat 6 times a day but with work it's very difficult. I have a protein shake in the morning for my commute to work, once i get to work, i usually have a bowl of oatmeal, then some nut snack in between. lunch i usually have a salad with xtra meat, then some snack and then dinner.

In my opinion this was/is your problem.

Cardio for losing FAT should be short but at high intensity. Never use long distance unless you're super fat and your body can't handle the stress of high intensities. I always use this analogy: track athletes, which one looks like they have less fat? Sprinters or long distance runners?

I work about 1 hour from home (1 hour commute) so I usually just grab something close to work.

    DIET

    meal 1
2 scoops of whey protein + non-fat milk

    meal2
    Oatmeal + Green tea
    Almonds

    meal 3
Chicken Salad (either from panera bread or local restaurant )

    meal 4
Some kind of nuts or protein bar or Protein Shake

    train

    meal 5
    2 scoops whey

    meal 6
    6-8oz Chicken or Trukey breast

Spend 30 minutes Sunday evening grilling chicken, steaks, or whatever you can eat. Pack it with you during the week for at work meals.

i think you are right, i read that intervals might be what i am looking for?

    5 mins warm up at speed of 5, then 2 mins @ 8, 1 min @ 5, 2 min @ 8, 1 min @ 5, 2 mins 2 @ 8?

The height of your intensity depends on your fitness level. Whatever, puts your HR at 70%. 8mph might put you at 85% or 60%. This is something you have to figure out on your own.
